things i've learned in the past 24 hours

-apparently, the stomach flu is going around.
-stomach flu is quite possibly the worst thing to happen to humankind. i have never felt so miserable IN MY LIFE.
-even after you think you've emptied the entire contents of your stomach, you can still heave... and heave... and heave.... until you feel like your stomach is going to detach itself from your insides. so fun.
-you should not throw up in your sink. it will clog.
-one should not try to go into work after spending all night sitting in front of the toilet. this will result in getting sick at work, bawling like a baby in front of boss and co-workers, and ultimately getting sent home early anyway. so it's best to just stay home.
-fluid is of utmost importance when you have the stomach flu. keep hydrated, or else.
-my bed is the best thing ever. but tv is not good when you're nauseous. it just makes you feel worse :(
-Unisom is heavenly, and perfectly okay to take when you're pregnant. i was finally able to sleep, a solid 12 hours, all thanks to the miracle sleep aid.

And most importantly, although i already knew this...
i have the best husband ever. seriously.

he deserves mad props... staying up with me all night, holding my hair back, cleaning up my "sickness" all over the bathroom, holding me while i cried on the bathroom floor, holding me until i could fall asleep, picking me up after i left work to go home (only to end up 100ft away in the subway parking lot because i couldn't drive myself), calling my doctor to make sure everything would be okay with our baby girl, picking up my prescriptions and blue powerade so i could hydrate up, massaging my legs forever because they were aching for some odd reason, missing work for a couple hours to make sure i would be okay, going to bed with me at 6pm just so that i could fall asleep (i can't sleep unless he's next to me)... honestly, can we get this guy a medal or something? he is just the sweetest.

moral of the story: don't get stomach flu. if you do catch it, make sure you have a good hubby on your side.
