seeing cardboard

Packing, packing, and more packing... and it seems the end is nowhere in sight!

Well actually, Stu and I [mostly Stu] got a LOT of stuff packed away into boxes and some of our furniture moved into storage. We still have a week or so before we need to be totally moved out of our apartment, but we preferred to do it little by little so it's not so stressful. It's actually been kind of fun! I've made a list:

There's nothing like moving to help you...
--find all the things you thought got eaten up by the dryer monster or "borrowed" by your sisters.
--realize that you have WAY too much stuff. Serious de-junking time.
--remember how studly and strong your husband is :)
--convince your husband that it really would be lovely to have a truck of our own.
--wish that you had picked an apartment on the ground floor. or a different month for moving.
--find the bag of rotting potatoes, who knows how old. (oh THAT's where the smell was coming from...)
--think about all the projects you had planned, never to finish them. Slackerrrr.
--make you think about investing in a maid.
--see how stingy Craigslist shoppers can be. (ps if anyone is in the market for a tv...)
--feel super nostalgic about all the precious/funny/unforgettable memories you made in your home. Especially since this was our first home as 'The Milnes' and we loved it here.

Anyway, it's not all bad. It's kind of fun packing up your whole life anticipating the next great adventure that awaits you. We're excited.

On a side note, Stu and I found the greatest carne asada in the world. And we feel the need to let everyone in on the secret, share the goodness. Anyway, we felt we deserved a break around 6pm last night and decided to shower up and go on a little "explore the treasures of mesa date." I had heard about this place via blogland and decided it wouldn't hurt to try it out. This family opens up a little restaurant in their backyard on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-midnight. They only have carne asada: tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, and baked potatoes (loaded with carne and other good stuff)- but it's all SO good! Stu's fave was the quesadilla with everything (more like a burrito, I think) and mine was the taco with everything. I could eat five. We both LOVED the drinks they had, one was like a chocolatey horchata. Mmmmmm. All of it was really inexpensive and REALLY, really good. To quote Stu last night post quesadilla consumption, "I am amazing right now." If you want directions to mexican food heaven, let me know, I'll hook you up :)

Uhh girlfriend!! How could you blog about such a mouth watering mexican resturant and NOT say what it's called or WHERE it is!! Haha I'm dying over here!!
Where are you and Stu moving to? Packing can be quite overwhelming, at least it was for The Yeager's. All I can say is I dislike moving very much so and I hope next year when we buy a home, we're in that home for at least 10yrs!!
